Colegio International Torrequebrada (CIT), received the AENOR quality certification just three months after opening its doors in the town of Benalmadena (Malaga), becoming the first school in Spain to open its doors under these standards of quality, not only in terms of management procedures, but also in the design of its educational activities and projects, showing a clear ability to innovate in a new educational model.
Today, quality service is a prerequisite for any organisation that wishes to survive and grow, as well as a must for those who want to become leaders in their field, and even more when referring to education. This is CIT, which remains committed on a daily basis to accomplish the values represented by its initials: (‘Calidad’) Quality, Innovation and Technology.
In a world subject to continuous change, commitment to innovation requires an extra effort to establish and control the quality of processes involved in achieving our objectives. Achievements which are primarily of benefit for students and parents.
Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada pursues Educational Innovation, understanding innovation as the selection, organisation and creative use of human and material resources that result in the achievement of a higher level with respect to the targets established.
The fact that we speak of conquering a higher level with respect to set objectives, alludes to a feature that, in educational innovation, is fundamental: innovations must be evaluated, and can only be assessed in relation to the goals and objectives of a specific educational system; they are not transferable from one system to another.
On the other hand, to consider Innovation in this way, it needs to last, to have a high rate of use and be related to relevant research. With this in mind, CIT has promoted the creation of the ‘Chair of Educational Innovation’ at Malaga University, co-chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Education D. Francisco Murillo and our CIT President and Founder, Ms Sonia Díez.
Also, a special mention needs to be given to the Educational Innovation Award granted to Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada (CIT) by the Internet Centre for Advanced Training ‘Educared’ (CEFA) promoted by Telefonica Foundation in its fourth edition.
