International Baccalaureate

Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada (CIT), authorized by the Spanish system is integrated into the prestigious World Schools of International Baccalaureate (IB),  it has the necessary accreditation to teach the IB Diploma Programme, becoming the first school in Malaga to offer this program in Spanish.

This initiative falls within the scope of academic excellence pursued by the CIT since its inception, and with which aims to help develop talent and creativity in young Malaga students, opening the doors of the world's most prestigious universities, which IB Diploma gives access to. In addition, high school students enrolled in this center will  be able to achieve  the National & International Baccalaureate diploma.

International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a leader in the field of international education, and its Diploma Program is different from other pre-university courses or assessments. This is a comprehensive and integrated program, equivalent to high school and two-year-emphasizing international perspectives and promotes the development of skills and attributes that prepare students for college and life in general XXI century :
The IB Diploma Program is a program that integrates several subject areas and promotes critical thinking, research and cultural understanding, as opposed to other programs or assessments that focus only on independent subjects.

  • The IB Diploma Program is established through a high-quality education sustained over thirty-five years, with a curriculum that represents the highest standards of different countries, rather than a curriculum adopted by a specific country. The IB program includes various forms of internal and external evaluation and is recognized and respected by leading universities worldwide.
  • This program, apart from rigorous evaluation and curriculum courses if valued for the mandatory components of the IB Diploma Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Action and Service, which favour the development of students and willingness to continue learning throughout life.
  • The extended essay provides students with the study methodology, giving them the opportunity to research a scientific topics of interest, and familiarize with the techniques of independent research and composition skills required in college, and in the Bologna Process.


Theory of Knowledge (TOK): The interdisciplinary TOK course is designed for students to deepen their exploration of the nature of knowledge, internalizing other disciplines and encouraging the appreciation of diverse cultural perspectives.

Creativity, Action and Service (CAS): A program that encourages students to engage in artistic fields, sports and community service, beyond the strictly academic.
