Our Past

Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada´s Educational project comes from more than 40 years of history and previous experience.

In 1963, Mr. Angel Bueno Roldán founded a private school to provide quality education to a group of families living in Getxo -Vizcaya. Since then, under the protection and direction of Mr. Julián Diez Mateo, the centre has grown considerably and educated more than 24.000 students, aged between 3 and 18 years old.

During his last years, Mr. Julián dedicated a lot of enthusiasm and effort to this project in order to create a new educational centre with an innovative character where he could apply the knowledge and experiences gained through the years. He chose Andalusia, a region always open to changes and integration, and bought a plot of land perfect for his purposes -surrounded by the best golf courses and just a few minutes away from sports facilities like a marina, or a horse race course right in the heart of the Costa del Sol in Benalmadena, less than 15 minutes away from important cities like Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Alhaurín and Málaga.

Since then, and together with his only daughter, Ms Sonia Diez, they started the design in 1996 for the exciting project of Colegio Internacioal Torrequebrada, that has now turned into a reality.

Our Present

Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada (CIT) is a bilingual private school (Spanish & English). In 2005 Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza – former Educational Minister in Spain and UNESCO General Manager for 12 years- inaugurated the school together with the infant school opening.

Nowadays the school offers education to children for Infant, Primary and Secondary Education in a stimulating and safe environment within the academic, social and sports limits. The school counts on excellent facilities and technical and human resources.

The compromise to educative excellence has lead the school to achieve AENOR Quality Certification by ISO 9001 both in design and provision of formative actions, that underwrite our own programs , that belong and contribute to active participation in different organizations like UNESCO Associated schools, The International Observatory for Innovation in Education and the Internacional Association of Internacional Schools, Catedra of Queality & Innovation Education (CAINED) in the Malaga University, among others.

Our Future

CIT's academic project is officially approved by the Spanish Educative System and covers the education for children aged 3 up to 18 years old. This circumstance is consistent with the policy of international recognition of degrees and certifications offered by the school in Primary & Secondary.

Our school, thanks to its international network, participates in some collaboration agreements with Spanish and Foreign institutions whose aim is to provide young people with orientation to their first contact with the professional and complex society of work.

As a result, Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada promotes an active learning environment, in and out of the classroom, that develops creative and critical thinkers, able to express their ideas, orient their actions to a defined objective, establish compromises and work efficiently with others in a Divers Global and Interactive world.

CIT’s students live together in a demanding academic environment, that gives a well-rounded education through the development of leadership abilities and skills, personalized guidance, talent management and teamwork, all skills are needed to achieve a future success both in their professional and personal life.
