Bury Immersion trip

Experiental Curriculum PYP 6- MYP1

Our trip to Bury was a great success! During this amazing experience, 30 primary students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in an English language programme for 7 days.

From the 9th to the 15th of March, they enjoyed a full schedule of cultural, social, and educational activities designed to strengthen their English, communication, social and self management skills while creating unforgettable memories.

It was an enriching and fun experience that they will surely cherish forever.

2nd PYP report card

We would like to inform you that the second report card for PYP Infant and Primary students will be published on 28th March. This report card reflects the academic progress of our students and will be an excellent opportunity to continue to monitor their development.

We encourage you to review the report card with your children to comment and reflect on achievements and areas for improvement.

Preparation for the PAU

We would like to inform you that, starting from the 31st of March, the Baccalaureate students will begin their preparation for the PAU (Prueba para el Acceso a la Universidad). These classes will provide them with the opportunity to review key content and consolidate their knowledge in preparation for these important exams.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish them every success in this crucial stage of their education.

Open Days DP and MYP

MYP / DP

From the 31st of March till the 4th of April, we will have our Open Days for the MYP and DP programmes. During these days, families will have the opportunity to participate in the classes and observe first-hand how our students learn, the methodologies we use and how we promote their academic and personal development. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the educational approach we offer, interact with the teachers and share their children’s learning experience in the classroom.

Cambridge Exams

All families

On April 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th, students from Year 3 to MYP1 will take the official Cambridge exams at the following levels and schedules:

  • Starters- written exam 08/04 and oral exam 07/04
  • Movers written exam 08/04 and oral exam 07/04
  • Flyers written exam 08/04 and oral exam 07/04
  • KET written exam 10/04 and oral exam 11/04
  • PET written exam 10/04 and oral exam 11/04

These exams provide a valuable opportunity to assess and certify our students’ progress in English learning. Good luck!!

These excursions are a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn in a hands-on way and enjoy new experiences, and acquire social and self-management skills, get out of their comfort zone and get to know their surroundings..Stay tuned!

Open Days at the Malaga University

Experiental Curriculum MP5 – DP1

The University of Malaga Open Days are coming up and we would like to attend on the 9tyh of April with our MYP5 and DP1 students who are interested. These days are an excellent opportunity to find out more about what the university has to offer and to explore possible options for the academic future of our students. We will depart from the school by bus, and families will be responsible for the cost of transport (we will share the cost once we have confirmed the group).

We are getting ready for the publication of our school yearbook, where we capture the best moments of the academic year. As part of this process, we will be taking Yearbook photos from March 31st to April 3rd.

It is very important that all students attend their photo session in their full uniform, including the blazer.

Debate League Final

We are pleased to announce that 17 of our students from MYP5, DP1, and DP2 have qualified for the Debate League Final in both English and Spanish, which will take place on April 4th in Madrid.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their skills in argumentation, critical thinking, and public speaking.We wish them the best of luck and are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. Go, team!

Summer camps

We can’t wait to introduce you to the summer camps we have available this year. We will be sharing all the information very soon, but we can already tell you that there will be art, dance, music, sports and amazing trips for all tastes.

In addition, Affinitas Education will be organising international camps, with exciting destinations such as Lisbon, Cincinnati, England and a surfing break in the north of Spain. We will send you all the details very soon and we are looking forward to the summer!

20th century characters exhibition

MYP1

The next 9th of April, we invite all MYP1 families, from 11h to 12h for an exhibition where the students of MYP1, will present the character of the novel they have been working on during this last unit. In this unit they have made a dossier on the contextualisation of these characters of the 20th century and the comparison with the characteristics of society today.

To do this, the students will dress up as their characters and present all the research and reflections they have done during the last two months.

Songwriting contest

The new edition of our song writing competition at Torrequebrada International School is coming up. This exciting competition is open to all students, who can enter individually or in groups.

There will be prizes for the winners, so it is the perfect opportunity to let your musical creativity run wild. We have extended the deadline till the 21st of April. For full details of the competition, click on the form.

Talk by the Spanish Association against School Bullying

Y2, Y6, MYP5

On the 25th of March, we will be receiving a visit from the Spanish Association Against Bullying, who will be giving a talk aimed at students in Year 2, Year 6 and MYP5. This session aims to raise awareness, prevent and provide tools to our students to identify, address and act against bullying situations.

Through this initiative, we want to promote a safe environment, based on respect and empathy, where all students feel protected and listened to.

Thursday, April 3rd  (15:00h) – MYP2 Meeting- Cultural Heritage I

MYP2 students will embark on a five-day journey focused on exploring Spain’s cultural heritage. They will visit three cities and take part in a cultural activity, a sports activity, and a group cohesion experience, all chosen through a school house vote. This experience will allow them to discover our cultural richness, to develop autonomy and self-management, and to surpass themselves, while creating unforgettable memories.

Wednesday, April 9th (15:00h) – MYP3 Meeting- Sancti Petri water activities and cycling

The MYP3 trip will be a sports-focused experience in Sancti Petri, designed to promote teamwork, perseverance, and a strong connection with nature. Students will engage in a variety of water-based activities and cycling routes, combining adventure and learning in a unique setting.On this journey they will learn to overcome themselves, fatigue and many social and self-management skills.

These trips represent an extraordinary opportunity for both academic and personal growth, and we are confident that our students will create unforgettable memories. We encourage families to attend these meetings, where we will provide all the necessary information and address any questions you may have. We will share a link to the online meeting for the families who cannot attend in person.
