For the second year in a row, the school’s exciting music competition is back, where students will have the opportunity to compose a solo or group song, so come along and share your musical talent with the school community!

Newsletter of the school library

We would like to inform you about the new launching of the “Library Newsletter“, addressed to our students with reading recommendations.
Our students will receive this Newsletter at the beginning of each month through their personal email. In addition, we will inform you of events and activities that aim to stimulate their interest in reading, such as the logo creation competition.

Vaccination
From Year 2, MYP 1 and MYP 3 families
We would like to inform you that the Torrequebrada Health Centre invites those who wish to have their children vaccinated to come to the Health Centre on Monday 22nd from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm without prior appointment.
At the counter you will have to indicate that you come from Torrequebrada International School, as more schools will be attending. For those students who do not have a Social Security card, you will need to bring the ID card or passport of the student and parents.
For those who have private insurance you must bring the insurance company card together with your ID card or passport.

CICAE Debate League
For family members of students previously signed up for the II Debate League Tournament organised by CICAE
We remind you that the students will attend the II Debate League on the 26th and 27th of January at the International School of Aravaca where they will argue their positions on ‘Should the Spanish Government prohibit mobile phones for children under 14 years old?
The outgoing journey will be on Friday 26th January at 8:40am from Malaga María Zambrano train station and arrival at Madrid Puerta de Atocha at 11:56 am. The return journey will be on Saturday 27th January at 18:30h and arrival in Malaga at 21:00h. Miss Susana and Miss Ana will accompany your children at all times.

Experiential curriculum Optimal Proyecto MYP 1 Candanchu
For families of MYP 1 students
We are excited to inform you that our MYP 1 students will be embarking on an unforgettable adventure to Candanchú from Sunday 28th January until Friday 2nd February.
The trip will start with the AVE to Zaragoza, then continue by private coach to Candanchú.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to take 14 hours of ski lessons with the experts of the Spanish Ski School.
All this while staying at the charming Hotel Edelweiss, a cosy 3-star accommodation at the foot of the slopes.

After the Christmas concert, we would like to continue our activities with the school choir. In order to do so, we would first like to formalise participation in the activity by means of this form to be filled in by those interested:
Over the next few months, a repertoire of songs will be put together which can be performed both in school events (such as the closing ceremony of the school year) and outside the school (charity performances in residences or school choir competitions).
This requires a commitment of the students that sing up to attend rehearsals (in the playground, one day a week) and a commitment to attend any other events that may take place.
We are sure that our choir can move many people and have an impact on those who listen to them.

For all families
We would like to invite you to the third FamilyLab Coffee of the 2023/2024 school year on Thursday, January 11th. The meeting will be from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the ‘Co-Working’ café.
At the last meeting we talked about the school library, the planning of the hiking route scheduled for 13/04, the coordination of the Gala Bai and the organisation of the spring festival. If you would like to collaborate in the preparation of any of these events, please fill in the form below.

Open Term
Primary PYP
It is a great pleasure for us to invite you to attend a range of sessions in Primary during the Open Days that we will be holding in school during the second term. These will take place from 5th February until 16th February.
These days are a wonderful opportunity to see, hear and experience what your children are doing in class and, in this way, we want you to feel more involved in their education at school. We encourage you to participate and come and share a class with our students.
To book, you have to access from the school website to the occasional services section, the username is the same as the alexia username and the password is the same as the one you use to book services.
