The concept of “Learning Landscapes” was born to develop a relational and well-being environment, which welcomes and values the academic, social and emotional aspects of each student.
In this way, spaces and materials become in many cases our third ally in the learning process. We believe that space has to be “thought” and valued for its great educational and interactive potential. It is not a simple “container” but rather an inspiring and enriching context.
A synthesis of the link between “spaces to learn”; to explore, to play, to admire, to consult, to be surprised, etc. and “spaces to be”; to share, to meet, to grow.
Many of the spaces and facilities at Torrequebrada International School are characterised by being open, transparent and connected places; a metaphor for learning centred on relationships, collaboration and interdisciplinarity. We create learning landscapes that, as far as possible, adapt to the students and not the other way around, so that it is always the students who have to adapt to them.
