Welcome to the Educational Project of Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada!
Our multilingual educational project is full of academic, social and personal possibilities that allow students to get to know themselves and become the best version of themselves in an environment based on the well-being of all the people who are part of this process.
At CIT we understand that the mission of a school is to give continuity to an eternal task: that of collectively applying all the knowledge, will, affection and commitment to guarantee the best living conditions for our children. For this reason, at Torrequebrada International School we have carried out an important work of synthesis around the learning process:
Innovative methodologies
Apply methodologies and approaches supported by the learning sciences (neuroscience, pedagogy and psychology) on how students learn and progress.
Critical thinking
Incorporate into the critical thinking curriculum a progressive advance in the understanding of moral integrity, starting with distinguishing right from wrong, understanding the implications and trade-offs involved, to having the courage to stand up for what is right.
Personal Growth
Assuming that the main role of teachers is to help students progress from knowing their strengths and weaknesses, to believing in their abilities and being able to adapt to change, to becoming resilient in the face of adversity.
Cooperation and leadership
Encourage students to move from cooperating and sharing with others, to being able to work in teams and show empathy for others, to being able to collaborate with different cultures and be socially responsible. They are expected to move from being lively curious and creative, to being innovative and entrepreneurial.
How we do it on a day-to-day basis
We believe in an education that goes beyond the acquisition of knowledge: we encourage critical thinking, research, discovery and enquiry in our students as fundamental pillars of their learning. Through an active and experiential methodology, we guide them through each educational stage, providing them with essential tools to face their present and future with confidence and autonomy.
We focus on their interests, concerns and the way they integrate into today’s society, adapting our pedagogical proposals to their curiosities and needs. We know that each student is unique and, therefore, we offer an environment that respects and enhances their uniqueness, allowing them to develop their full potential.
In addition, we understand that emotional and physical well-being is key to meaningful learning. A balanced student is able to learn and develop fully. Therefore, at Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada, we accompany our students in all dimensions of their growth, ensuring that their educational experience is enriching not only academically, but also personally and emotionally.
From the time they are very young, we focus daily on the acquisition of concepts, but above all on learning to think, communicate, socialise, investigate and self-manage. Furthermore, as we are a Positive Discipline school, our teachers are trained in this approach, helping our pupils on a daily basis to be their best version of themselves.
Extracurricular Activities
We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities so that pupils have the opportunity to get to know new sporting, cultural and leisure horizons, while developing skills related to the commitment necessary to deepen their learning, which often requires the coordination of individual and common interests, or teamwork.
