Secondary

Secondary From 12 to 16 years old

At the Secondary stage, pupils begin an important moment of identity, of getting to know themselves and of social relationships.

The academic curriculum revolves around the MYP (Middle Years Programme) of the International Baccalaureate covering the Spanish curriculum in bilingual mode (English – Spanish). Therefore, we follow an inquiry-based learning approach but in a disciplinary way and based on a curriculum of concepts and competencies rather than content.

It is essential that our students acquire knowledge but also critical thinking, reasoning and skills to know how to use the concepts they have acquired.

Experiential and Highly Employable Curriculum

In parallel to this academic curriculum, we develop an experiential curriculum for the pupils with the idea of living challenges and experiences outside the school that allow them to get to know themselves better, to manage in new situations and to build links with other people and territories. Experiences such as volunteering, expeditions, exchanges or trips bring out the best in students.

Last but not least, pupils go through a high employability programme from 1st ESO to 4th ESO to acquire competences (power skills) and skills that are the most demanded by companies in the current and future world. Within this process, the monitoring of pupils and the vocational and professional guidance programme are also part of this process.

We are aware that most of the jobs that the younger generations will do do not yet exist and therefore it is our responsibility to train and prepare them. All of this is accompanied by strong values that form them also and, above all, as people.

Why Choose Our Secondary?

Concept-based learning

We prioritise concept-based learning that enables students to develop a deep and transferable understanding of knowledge by fostering connections between different contexts.

Skills and Competences

We foster the development of key competencies and essential skills, such as critical thinking, empathy, proactivity and resilience, preparing our students to successfully face the challenges of the present and the future.

Autonomy and Responsibility

Through an educational approach that promotes self-assessment and reflection, students learn to manage their own learning and develop confidence in a variety of contexts, strengthening their adaptability and decision-making skills.
